HOW TO (actually) BE A GRAPHIC DESIGNER

HOW TO (actually) BE A GRAPHIC DESIGNER

This video is all about how to become a graphic designer! I can’t believe I have a design and art channel and have never discussed this topic. I cover things like finding your niche, going to school or being a self taught designer, marketing yourself, and types of jobs for graphic designers. I hope this helps!

my series on how to be a freelance designer!

  1. Seeing a lot of comments about things I’ve covered in my freelance series! Please go check it out if you want to know more about getting clients, contracts, networking etc! Link in description!

  2. i’m so lucky my highschool offers a paid for and free careers school i can take a 2 year graphic design class for free and looks great on a resume

  3. Is graphic design and visual design same?
I want to study graphic design but the university that I want to apply only provide Visual Design course, So I have a doubt that graphic design and visual design is same or not.

  4. I want to be a graphic designer as I love to make beautiful pictures, beautify pics and videos , playing with words and colours and pictures. Hopefully I am going to learn something here on your channel.

  5. As an absolute beginner, my number one problem is coming up with ideas or not knowing where to start. Idk what I’d do next after making a logo, mocking set ups, what fonts I could use, if I need to include photography or how can I incorporate all of them into a portfolio and I’m honestly overwhelmed since graphic design is my upcoming major but idk where to even begin even after a simple sketch.

  6. This is a really good video (heart eyes lol (I’m on the computer)) but it made me realize the things take time, you can do anything (heart eyes lol). <33

  7. thank you so much for this video ! i been looking for another source of income, i am studying cosmetologist but as i grow, i need to find ways to make more money at home. i want to help design wedsites for other people ❤️

Hey how long do you think it’ll take to learn self taught or just doing a online program that you can move at your own pace?

Id be afraid to be a freelancer bc u dont have a regular paycheck or health insurance benefits.

  10. Mostly all of my trade or skills are self taught, i would recommend you get a certificate of some sort, you don’t have to go to school, but having a certificate at least where i live is so important pay-grade wise you could do exactly the same as someone with a certificate or more even and you would still get paid less because you don’t have a piece of paper. so i learn on my own and then get a certificate to prove i’m good at that skill, unfair? yes, but whatchya gonna do! be safe everybody and remember you can do anything you set your mind to.

  11. i really like this field (i’m at 9th grade atm) and i do some things art related like graffiti and stuff but i’m not rly good at drawing. should i give up or i stay arround?
